1. Language and behaviour |
Do not post in any other language than english. It is allowed to have a non-english part in your post but you must have an english translation of the whole text in your post.
Answering to non-english posts with an english post is similar to feeding the trolls, report them instead, they will be asked to rewrite the post in english again. |
Stay away from asking questions being asked before. Just use the search function for your specific keywords and you´ll most likely be successfull. We try keeping our threads and posts clean and well organized, so your results might be way better than those of other forums.
Also make sure to have a look at the wiki, the information might already be posted there. Make sure to check any tool related FAQ threads also. |
Specify your question or content right in the title! This is vital for the search function and questions not being asked again. You might be asked to edit your title once, but barely twice, as it isn´t hard to form the question or the content in the thread topic.

There´s a special forum designed for offtopic purpose, refrain from posting anywhere it shouldn´t belong. This helps us keep the forum well structured and clean, increasing the readability.
All of the above mentioned are not tolerated in our community. Discussions are of course accepted, but all of which applies to "common sense", applies to this forum as well. You think you shouldn´t do it? Don´t do it, it´s as simple as that.
No download links/attachments in the Showoff forums! As soon as you´re having something available for download it goes into the main forum (i.e. "Scripting" than in "Scripting/Showoff").
When posting lines of code, use the code-syntax ( [code] ) and not as simple text. You should also explain lines of code, at least in general. |
2. Project Management |
The Project category is split into three boards: member search/project search (Recruitment), project idea development (Project Development) and introduction of finished projects (Finished Projects). Please use the right forum for the right purpose.
The bonusses of a featured project (more in 4.3.) are apparent, but for obvious reasons we cannot allow every project to be featured, but only a selected few, selected by the Modcraft Team. There is no way begging or spamming might help us decide wether your project should be featured or not. In fact, spamming and waisting the time of moderators will most likely have your project locked instead.
3. Tutorials |
This is a tutorial MUST HAVE. Structure your guides using big headlines, clear language and images to illustrate.
Tutorials not following these guidelines will be either closed and the poster notified to change something or they might be simply deleted. |
When a tutorial has been posted, it first must be approved by a Moderator, Global Moderator or Administrator to appear in the forum. Not all of the Tutorials can be approved, but in case you don´t write something already written about and it isn´t better than the previous entry and you also stuck to the readability guidelines, it is most likely to get approved after all.
In case it isn´t, you probably created a duplicate entry, so be sure to check what´s been written about and what hasn´t. To keep the tutorial threads clear and readable, replies require approval as well. |
4. Ranks and Unlockables |
The Contributor rank indicates users with a high interrest in this community. People who are often present, supporting by writing tutorials, answering questions and generally helping people out can be pretty sure to be Contributors after a while.
The advantages of the Contributor include:

Advanced Artists create art of higher quality. This includes worldbuilds, level designs as well as models, scripts etc. Only the work of Advanced Artists is featured inside the Ressources Section.
In order to get this status you must post several good quality items inside the Modding Section (In the Showoff subforums will do). Several items of good quality are asked, not hundreds of low quality! The features of an Advanced Artist are:

Featured Projects or Tools are outstanding creations in development. The Modcraft Team greatly encourages such creations by supporting them where needed.
